I heard that simply switching to soy milk can help me reduce my sugar intake. Or that taking the stairs can help me drop an additional pound. What are some other things that I can change to help me lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Walk to work or school, or ride a bike, instead of driving in. Or walk to the grocery store, fill up your bag with groceries, and walk home. I like to do that on summer nights for fresh air and exercise.

Does anyone have the answer on how to get motivated and stick with a lifestyle change to be healthy?
I have been struggling for years saying that I’m going to lose weight and change my lifestyle. How does one finally do it? Any tips? I am so frustrated!
1. Start slow. Don’t try to overwhelm yourself. If you tell yourself, you’re going to eat healthy, work out five times a week, never sit on the couch, etc. Etc.- you’ll be overwhelmed and less likely to follow through.
2. Consider starting a work out plan that includes small goals that you gradually increase each week. Maybe include a rewards system at the end of each week. Like for every day you work out, you put a dollar in a jar… Then after a couple of weeks that money you saved can go toward buying a new shirt
3. Think about yourself & not about other people when creating a plan. A healthy you is different than another person.
4.consider getting a friend to do it with you or join weight watchers. I have had friends have great results from it because it actually teaches you applicable skills and is not a fad diet.

You need to think simple. The simpler the meals you eat, the healthier you’ll be. Some healthy food ideas:
Boneless/Skinless chicken breast
Fruits & Veggies:
Bananas, Oranges, Apples, Pears, Berries
Asparagus, Spinach, Broccoli, Carrots, Cucumbers, Collard Greens
Just mix and match your meals with these foods, and you should notice a difference in the way you feel and look in a matter of weeks. The point is to be consistent, eat properly for a long period of time, not just a few days.
Try to incorporate some phsyical activity into your day as well (ie. Lifting weights, walking/jogging).
