Your Questions About Healthy Fattening Foods To Gain Weight

Mary asks…

I need to gain weight help!?

I’m 95 pounds and 5’3 female , 14 almost 15 years old! My mom is starting to worry about my weight and thinks I’m turning anorexic because I only eat healthy food and less frequently and small sized portions. I think I’m in the verge of an eating disorder but I’m getting over it and want to gain weight now. But I’ll be doing good and eating 1500 calories a day but now I feel really guilty and fat and I’m so scared that I’ll be gaining fat , I like the way I look but maybe I’m too skinny I wanna gain like 5-10 pounds but everytine I’m about to eat something fattening I get scared and try to throw away the food. Like for dinner I just had half a burger with French fries my mom deep-fried and a brownie slice and green beans. I feel disgusting , I never eat that unhealthy or that much! Usually I have a plain baked potato with a side salad.

Lisa asks…

How can I keep from gaining my weight back?

I’m 15, 5′ 4″, and 123 pounds. I’m trying to lose weight because I have a lot of fat on my hips and thighs. I know I don’t sound that overweight, but I don’t carry weight well, so I look fat.

I’m eating about 500 calories a day of very healthy food, and walking fast on a treadmill with intervals of jogging. I do that for at least 2 miles a day. I know I should eat more, but I have to lose a few pounds, because I’ve been chunky for way too long.

I haven’t even been doing this for a week yet, and I’ve already lost 2 pounds. It’s actually pretty easy for me to stay motivated, and I don’t even want fattening foods. My goal weight is around 110. But I’m concerned that if I start eating normally again, I’ll gain all the weight back that I lost. Once I lose my fat, I want to keep it off and stay thin. I plan on staying active, but I don’t know if that’s enough.

If I ate 600 calories a day for one week, then 700 the next week, 800, etc. until I reached about 1200, would that work, or do you think I would still gain the weight back?

Thanks.

The easiest way to NOT gain weight is to weight yourself daily – every morning. You will very quickly see if you start a weight gaining trend and can stop it before it gets out of hand. It’s easy to undo one bad day, not so easy to undo a bad week or a bad month.

Congrats everyone! lol Im only 32 weeks and already am ready to just have this baby ))

I really like snacking on things like crispers (crackers that are like chips), when I’m craving a salty snack, they have less calories and fat but are satisfying or just regular crackers with cheese. When I’m craving ice cream I try to eat sherbet or frozen yogurt, it’s not the most healthiest thing ever but it’s less calories then ice cream.

Greek yoghurt to help maintain/gain weight?

I’m aiming to gain or at least maintain my weight, i feel I’m too skinny after going through a tough few months(very bad eating habits).
Is Greek style yoghurt healthy? Or fattening? I go for the low fat version out of habit and preference. It’s so nice and plan to eat more! Is it healthy? If it makes me gain weight will this be a earthy way? Compared to eating saturated fats such as fast food and sweets?

PS. I’m 5’8 and about 125lbs. Used to weigh about 165lbs haha!

Greek yogurt is very heathy for you. It doesnt have all that extra sugar added like the yoplait and other kinds.. It would take a lot to gain weight with it.. But it possible
