Obesity question…………………..?
Discuss the strategies which are in place and should be in place to overcome the problem of the obesity epidemic.
admin answers:
Get rid of all fast food. Make restrictions that all farmers farm organically. Go back to how everything was in the day when only people were genetically over weight. Have all restaurants reduce portions. Oh my goodness i could go on and on. Haha.

MIND CONTROL? is Big Brother here? why has obesity become an epidemic? why so much violence nowadays?opinions?
I’m sure that most of you have read George Orwell’s “1984″; if you haven’t, I highly recommend it.
What do you think are the means, by which our minds are attempting to be controlled? or just simply influenced one way or another?
As referred to in my posted question, why has obesity become a major health concern today?
Why is violence so prevalent in nearly all forms of recreation and/or entertainment in modern day society – not only here in this country, but all over the world.
If you have other examples that you feel are the results of mind control in whatever medium or form, please list and explain.
My candidates are the media, especially TV. How many of the commercials on TV advertise food as an elixir for happiness? Contentment? Pleasure?
How many billboards have you seen on the free way advertising, “All you can eat buffet———”.
Children’s videos games, needless, unbridled violence: enjoy! enjoy! enjoy!
How awful. Do you feel the same way?

Hey, responders! Seems to me that answerer (2) “Drunken S lut” could use a positive stroke. I sent her an E-mail: anyone else?

George Orwell was a latter day prophet of sorts. Must have had a crystal ball, I think! Seriously, he saw a lot of things coming and was a great political analyst (Animal Farm.)
I think the state of affairs in society today is “DOUBLE PLUS UNGOOD!” Iraq reminds me of the wars in 1984. So does Vietnam, for that matter.
Gratuitous violence is a mark of the decline of intelligence in our culture and elsewhere. When I was a child, The Three Stooges were funny to me. However, when I grew up I realized that although slapstick actors had a certain talent, what the stooges did was stupid and in a lot of shorts, racist and sexist.
The world is going to hell in a hand basket. YES! BIG BROTHER IS HERE, HAS BEEN FOR SOME TIME AND HE IS WATCHING US ALL!
Thank God, greater is he that is in me than he of the world!
Edit: I forgot to answer the obesity question. Two reasons: SUPERSIZE IT! And poverty. Some people in urban areas don’t have a grocery store that sells fresh produce for MILES. They have no choice but to eat food that is processed, starchy, high in fat and filling. The dollar menu at Mickey D’s is the best way to feed the family for a lot of people. Sad.

Supersize Me questions?
1. What aspects of the film seem to place blame on the fast food industry for the obesity epidemic in the United States? Explain.
2. What aspects of the film seem to place blame on the consumers for the obesity epidemic in the United States? Explain.
admin answers:
This is a partial answer, but I think this part of the film seems to place blame on the fast food industry: it is decided that, when asked if he wants to “super-size” a meal, he must do it. This makes it seem like other customers also lack the willpower to turn down similar offers. (This is actually a common technique used in retail, especially in food service, called “up-selling.” It involves suggesting additional purchases to customers, and it is an effective method of increasing sales.)
As for which aspects place blame on consumers, I don’t know.

Mark asks…
Does the American government even care anymore?
I would like each and every question in this post to be treated as an individual question and would appreciate it if you only answered one of them at a time.
Why does the government allow food manufacturers to label their food as having 0 grams of fat as long as they only have .5 grams or less of trans fat in them? Not really something a Government who also says they are trying to fight the “obesity epidemic” would do.
Why can underage kids purchase a game like Overlord, where you control minions and can basicly have them do anything from burn alive in liquid metal to upgrade your weapons/armor and even get them drunk and hell even encourage the killing of innocents and on top of that you can make them commit suicide to heal your self or your mana, yet we can’t buy a game like Gears of War which loosely portrays firearms combat against a fictional race of monsters who have been trying to make the human race extinct? Is it because Overlord is just more fictional then Gears of War.
admin answers:
1. The government is busy stopping people from killing each other with guns and knives and stuff. 2. The government is busy trying to stop kids from getting drunk, joining gangs and killing the innocents. They’re busy trying trying to stop people who are dangers to other people (speeders, bombers, crazy people, rapists, abusers, ect. Ect.). Granted, they aren’t doing much to prevent bad behavior, but thats parents job.
